“Google Analytics can be really intimidating,” said Julie Booher, the Vx Group Integrated Marketing Manager who has been deciphering Google Analytics Reports for nearly a decade. “I’ve seen people get completely overwhelmed with the amount of data Google Analytics provides, but you just have to know what to look for.”

So, what should you look for? When you’re looking at your first Google Analytics report, you need to use it as a baseline to set goals:

  1. What do you want your website to accomplish?
  2. Do you want more visitors, page views, time on site?
  3. Where do you hope to be in a year?
