A badge scan records that someone walked close enough to be scanned. It carries no information about whether that person specifies, buys, or influences a purchase, and it produces a list of mostly unqualified names with no conversational context, which sales teams rationally ignore. Chasing scan volume also changes floor behavior, pushing staff toward brief interactions with strangers while the twenty conversations that could produce revenue go unscheduled. The more useful measure is meetings held with named target accounts.
