A Pilot’s Approach to Sales Growth

Vx represents your best angle of climb.

There are a lot of scary aviation terms that are applicable in business. We all fear the nosedive, the tailspin and the crash. Reactively, we do everything in our power to prevent those.

But, when we have the foresight to be proactive, we strive for Vx – the best angle of climb.

Pilots rely on Vx immediately after takeoff to clear obstacles – like trees, geographic formations and buildings close to the end of the runway. Once those are cleared, pilots take the plane to cruising altitude using Vy (the best rate of climb).

We were founded on the Vx principle because adhering to it inspires good, strong growth. Grow too fast and you could expose unforeseen issues (poor infrastructure, employee burnout, market shifts). Grow too slow and you could miss out on sales opportunities.

Growing sales at Vx allows you to be nimble and aggressive, boosting sales while strengthening selling practices. We believe the end goal isn’t to get to cruising altitude, it’s to continue the climb.
